Welcome to “Ley Lines”
- the new album by Conny Olivetti.
It’s been a while, but I hope that it’s been worth the wait.
Since the release of “Edgeland”, I’ve been struggling with
a direction for the new album. For a long time I thought that we were working on a dirty, spooky jazz album; a jazz album with a twist; but something happened on the way, (mainly me realizing I can’t play jazz). So here we are with the sibling to “Motorik”. It’s clean, organic and includes a collaboration with singer Linnea, from the group whaTiF? Working with Linnea has been a true pleasure. You can actually send anything to her, and she always returns with a song file that you did not think was possible.
Linnea’s song files altered the originals in such a way that new ideas appeared and changed the original compositions, in a good way.
Often it was about subtraction; taking things away, leaving out the clutter, cleaning up the sound; a “less is more” attitude to the whole process.
As usual, your feedback is appreciated!
